Shipping automation for Collmex

From Collmex order to parcel ready for dispatch

Connect Collmex, shipping services, printers and the packing station in one continuous workflow. Your team is guided step by step while documents, labels and individual shipping instructions are made available for each order.

The system behind it

Every shipping component in one interface

Shipping automation connects Collmex, the packing station, documents, shipping services and existing hardware. The exact modules depend on your actual shipping process.

Core solution

One central shipping interface for Collmex customer orders

Once a customer order reaches the defined status in Collmex, it is transferred automatically to the shipping system. It is then ready to pack, while the admin dashboard tracks every delivery through a clear status model.

The principle
  • Collmex remains the system of record
  • The packing station follows a clear workflow
  • Modules are combined around the process
  • Extensions can be added at any time
ResultFewer manual steps, clear packing workflows and full visibility of current customer orders

Customer order and data

All relevant customer, order and shipping data from Collmex is structured and ready for further processing in the shipping interface.

Packing station and operation

The tablet-optimized interface supports staff at the packing station and displays customer-specific shipping and packing instructions. A signal light indicates new customer orders, disruptions and system status.

Documents and shipping

Invoices, delivery notes and shipping labels are available digitally or printed for each customer order.

Operations and extensions

Connected monitoring supervises data exchange and reports problems immediately. Interfaces, devices and workflows can be added at any time.

Example workflow

One order, one guided process

This is one possible route from a customer order in Collmex to a parcel ready for dispatch. The sequence, output timing and modules are adapted to each packing process.

  1. 01

    Intake

The customer order is transferred from Collmex. The invoice and delivery note are printed immediately.

  2. 02

    Picking

The required items are gathered. Optional digital picking shows items, quantities and storage locations.

  3. 03

    Packing

Items, quantities and shipping documents receive a final check before the order is securely packed.

  4. 04

    Booking

The shipment is registered with the carrier. The required shipping labels are then printed.

  5. 05

    Dispatch

The parcel is sealed, labelled and placed for collection by the carrier.

Manual or automated

Less coordination. More reliable shipping

There are often more manual steps than necessary between a customer order and a parcel ready for dispatch. Shipping automation connects them in one clear, reliable workflow.

Frequently asked questions

What to know before getting started

Getting started does not require a completely redesigned shipping process or replacing all existing equipment. What matters is how Collmex and the actual packing-station workflow work together reliably.

01Which Collmex plan is required?

Collmex Pro is required to process customer orders via the API. Before implementation, we also verify the data, user permissions and functions required by the specific shipping process.

02Can existing printers and tablets be reused?

In many cases, yes. We review existing devices, network and printing routes at the outset and determine what can be integrated or should be supplemented. Document handling can also be entirely paperless on request; physically required shipping labels are unaffected.

03Is digital picking included?

Digital picking is planned as an extension module. Its scope and interface depend on storage structure, item identification and the required validation rules.

04Can the shipping process be paperless?

Yes. Invoices, delivery notes and other documents can be provided and processed digitally. Only what the packing or shipping process physically requires then needs to be printed.

05Which languages are possible?

The user interface is designed for multiple languages. The required language versions are selected for each team.

06Can more than one packing station be connected?

The architecture is modular and designed for extension. Additional packing stations and growing shipping volumes are considered during solution design.

07Is this an off-the-shelf product?

The foundation consists of proven standard modules and established software. At the same time, it is built so that interaction logic, shipping services, hardware and individual packing processes can be adapted or extended without major effort.

08Who is shipping automation suitable for?

It is designed for companies that use Collmex and want to automate shipping economically without immediately relying on oversized market solutions with long payback periods. Its modular scope offers particularly strong value for small and medium-sized businesses while still scaling to larger shipping operations.
