Enwikuna takes the protection of your privacy and your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy describes the processing of personal data in the TelefonX macOS app for SIP telephony. The general Enwikuna privacy policy additionally applies to data processing when you visit this website.

1. Principle of local processing
TelefonX generally processes app data locally in the app container on your Mac. Data leaves the Mac only where this is necessary for a feature you use, in particular to communicate with the SIP provider you configured or, when business lookup is enabled, with Apple Maps.
The legal basis for app and telephony functions you request is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Limited technical logs required for secure and reliable operation are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the stability and security of the app. macOS system permissions control technical access. They do not automatically constitute consent under data protection law.
The credentials for your SIP provider and microphone access are required for the telephony function. Other system permissions are optional and are used only for the relevant additional feature. Telephony is not possible without SIP credentials or microphone access.
2. App data stored locally
Depending on how you use the app, TelefonX stores the following locally:
- internal contacts with names, companies, phone numbers, email addresses, groups, notes and reduced contact images without original EXIF or GPS metadata
- favorites, preferred numbers and phone lines
- SIP line settings such as label, username, authentication name, domain, registrar, proxy, transport type and STUN configuration
- call history with the other party, line, direction, time, duration, status and codec
- blocked numbers, dialling rules and callback reminders
- audio and general app settings, and selected ringtone or hold-music files
SIP passwords are stored separately in the macOS Keychain. The other data listed above is held in the local app container.
3. SIP accounts and calls
For registration and calls, TelefonX connects to the SIP provider or telephone system you configured. Depending on the function, SIP usernames and authentication information, telephone numbers or SIP addresses, IP and connection information, time and duration, SIP signalling, technical connection data, DTMF input and call audio are transmitted to the provider or the other party.
TelefonX connects directly to the SIP provider or telephone system you configured. The provider you select processes data under its own privacy and deletion rules. Transport encryption depends on the provider’s support and your configuration. TelefonX supports UDP, TCP and TLS as well as optional SRTP; this does not guarantee end-to-end encryption for every call.
TelefonX does not record calls or send call content to Enwikuna. Phone numbers and SIP addresses received from tel:, sip: or sips: links or through the “Call with TelefonX” macOS service are initially placed only in the local dialling field and sent to the SIP provider when you start a call.
4. Apple Contacts
After you enable the feature and grant macOS access, TelefonX can read names, companies, phone numbers and contact or preview images from Apple Contacts. These contacts are shown read-only, are not changed and are not automatically sent to Enwikuna.
You can withdraw access under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Contacts. Data that you deliberately copied from Apple Contacts into TelefonX’s internal contacts must be deleted separately there.
5. Public business lookup through Apple Maps
Business lookup is available with TelefonX Pro and can be enabled in General Settings. For unknown public phone numbers, TelefonX may then send the normalized number to Apple Maps or MapKit to find a matching public business listing. Local and Apple contacts take priority; SIP addresses are not searched.
Search results are held only temporarily in memory and are not automatically saved as an internal contact. Apple’s processing is additionally governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. TelefonX Pro and subscriptions
TelefonX Pro is available as an automatically renewing monthly or annual subscription. Purchase, billing, renewal, cancellation, restoring purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple and the App Store. In this context, Apple processes in particular Apple Account, payment, transaction and subscription data in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.
Through StoreKit, TelefonX receives the product and verified entitlement information required to activate and verify TelefonX Pro, in particular the product identifier, active status, term and expiration information. This processing is necessary to perform the subscription and is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. TelefonX is not provided with full payment details such as credit card information or the Apple Account password.
7. Microphone, audio and automation
TelefonX requires microphone access for calls. During a call, audio is sent to the SIP provider or the other party but is not stored as a call recording. You can withdraw access under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
Audio files selected as ringtones or hold music are copied to the local app container and are not sent to Enwikuna. Hold music can be transmitted to the other party while a call is on hold.
After you enable the setting and grant macOS access, TelefonX can use Apple Events to pause Apple Music or Spotify when a call starts. TelefonX does not read playback history or send music information to Enwikuna. You can withdraw access under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Automation.
8. Notifications and Focus status
TelefonX can display local macOS notifications for incoming and missed calls and due callback reminders. A callback notification may contain the saved name but not a confidential callback note. You can change or withdraw permission in macOS notification settings.
After you grant access, TelefonX can read the macOS Focus status required to synchronize the app’s own Do Not Disturb mode. Focus schedules and personal Focus names are not sent to Enwikuna. You can withdraw this permission in macOS System Settings.
9. Import, export and backups
Only when you deliberately request it does TelefonX import or export contacts as CSV, local backups, anonymized diagnostic data, audio files or contact images. Backups may contain contacts, notes, phone numbers, call history and callback reminders. They are not automatically encrypted; you choose their storage location and further use. SIP passwords and audio files are not included in a backup.
Diagnostic data is exported only manually and is not automatically sent to Enwikuna. It does not contain passwords, phone numbers, contact names or call content.
10. Technical logs
TelefonX writes limited messages such as network status and technical error codes to the local macOS system log. These logs remain on the Mac. They are sent to Enwikuna only if you deliberately export diagnostic data and send it to Enwikuna yourself.
11. Recipients and external services
Depending on the features you use, data is received by:
- the SIP provider or telephone system operator you selected
- the other party to a call
- Apple when Apple Maps or MapKit is used
- Apple when a TelefonX Pro subscription is purchased or managed through the App Store
You select your SIP provider, which processes data under its own responsibility. You should therefore also review that provider’s processing and any transfers to third countries.
12. Storage and deletion
Local data generally remains stored until you delete it in TelefonX, replace it through an import or remove the app including its local container. Contacts, call histories and callback reminders have their own deletion functions. SIP credentials are deleted by removing the relevant line. You must delete exported files and backups yourself at their storage location. Data held by the SIP provider is subject to that provider’s retention rules. App Store transaction and payment data is subject to Apple’s retention and deletion rules.
13. Your data protection rights
Where Enwikuna processes personal data relating to you, and subject to the statutory requirements, you have in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent with effect for the future. Send requests to [email protected].
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. The authority responsible for Enwikuna is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision; complaints can be submitted through its online service.
14. Data security
TelefonX separates SIP passwords from other app data and stores them in the macOS Keychain. The app container limits access by other apps. Contact images are stored without original metadata, passwords and audio files are excluded from backups, and diagnostic data is exported only at your request. Depending on the provider and configuration, TLS and SRTP are available for SIP transmissions. You should keep unencrypted exports and backups in a protected location.
15. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy if legal requirements, TelefonX or the services used by the app change. The current version published on this website applies.
